Luis Kerch Flores

Luis Kerch Flores| Bio

Luis Kerch takes great inspiration from iconic British painter, J.M.W Turner's expressionist freedom in landscapes and in his masterful depiction of light.
He creates pieces where the landscape itself is blurred, and the image is destroyed in order to activate the imagination. The pictorial is taken to the limit. Therefore, there is always something that escapes us and vertigo takes over the experience. A reality that we can neither see nor describe but whose existence can be inferred. In his words: "I paint with the intention of transmitting my own experience in awe of nature, the experience of perceiving light through the use of color."

Thus, the name of the series created and presented in Baja:
“Inner Landscapes: Painting the Lights & Colors of Los Cabos”

Kerch holds a Master of Science in communication design from the Pratt institute, Brooklyn, New York,USA. and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Miami Florida, USA and has 35 years of experience, that have taken him to important art exhibits and fairs such as Basel Miami and Barcu in Colombia, among others, and individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico City, London, Madrid and Venezuela.
