FERNANDO MORENO | Bio
The young artist’s work is deeply rooted in the most basic element of all art and design: drawing. With their limited palette of black (from Moreno’s ink), white (from his paper) and, often, nothing more than a single, additional accent color, the artist’s drawings call attention to the expensive character and thoughtful movement of his bold line as it gives shape to his subjects.
Moreno’s art portrays a dream world filled with uncertain emotional energy. If his imaged evoke the spirit of the unconscious memory that characterizes dreams, they also suggest that the past is something fleeting that cannot be easily recovered, only reimagined.
Recently Moreno has transferred his distinctive line and imagery to canvas. Painting in oil, he has expanded his palette and has given his other worldly scenes more concrete, more vivid form.
