Claudio Gallina

Claudio Gallina | Bio

He studied at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón National School of Fine Arts.

He worked as a set designer at the Colón Theater, as well as in film and television. The theater continues to be the frame of reference for his scenes. He dives into  his emotional background and uses drama and dramatic language as means of atonement.

Gallina proposes art as a door, he uses memory as a method of knowledge and insinuation and metaphors as his creative language. He strongly believes that remembering can heal, the emotions and memories that we repress as adults are present in his paintings, which makes us aware of ourselves and our existence. The fact that he uses students as characters in his paintings says a lot about this.

Counts with more than 30 individual exhibitions, as well as group ones in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, the United States, Peru, Spain, Chile, England and Panama. He has participated in Biennials and International Fairs such as Art Miami, Art Chicago, Art Madrid, Pinta  New York, Art Bo Colombia, Bienal de Panamá, among others.

He was commissioned several murals in the city of Buenos Aires, including one in the oldest subway station of the country when it got renewed in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of its creation. In June 2013 he was the honored artist of the FIA  International Art Fair in Caracas, Venezuela.
