Aisha Asconiga

Aisha Asconiga | Bio

Lima, Perú.
Asconiga has been actively and restlessly working since 2011, mainly focusing on the fields of information, consumerism and advertising; Through an intense and reflective criticism she has dedicated her work to investigate human fragility and how certain behaviors that generate psychological disorders, violence and personal dissatisfaction are both evidenced and created in the way we relate to the themes mentioned above.
Through painting, sculpture, installation, engraving and collage, she seeks and explores her inner self and the body as subject in order to generate an iconography that contemplates the different control mechanisms that exist in society and how, mainly women have been both objectified and targeted.

She manages to create pieces that are aesthetically pleasant without loosing the essence of a profound criticism.

Asconiga´s work has been exhibited since then in several Solo and Collective shows, forms part of impotant collections such as “El OJO ANDINO PERÚ” by Luciano Benetton and “Arte al Límite.” it has been presented in different Art Fairs around the world, like ArtLima, Singapore Contemporary ART FAIR, TOKIO ART FAIR, BARCU, and PARC.
